Giving up vs doing happiness.

Giving up is simply not something you do! Or so I thought.

I try living my life giving 110% on any project, relationship or activity I attempt. This is the way it should be. But, even when things go completely wrong, and it becomes dull, sad, or not enjoyable; I tend to cling on like a leech to the bitterest of ends – this trait has not always been in my favour. I could have been channeling my energy into more viable alternatives!

I recently discovered that there are things that can be given up, and that it isn’t always a bad thing! It’s unfair on a person’s personality and spirit to continue something, whether it is a relationship, business, job, or extracurricular activity if it is making you a severely unhappy person. Sometimes it is just better to cut your losses and put your energy into something that will make you happy, fulfilled or generate the desired results. Negative energy just breeds demotivation, lack of inspiration, makes your day long and ultimately kills your spirit.

Does this mean you a weak person for giving up? Originally I thought so, but instead I feel that the choice towards happiness and fulfillment is wisdom and a positive way of looking at it. Ultimately life is short, and we need to make the most of it. I don’t believe that struggling and directing energy into fruitless endeavors is the answer. Should we not channel our energy into projects and people that inspire and motivate us?

Stop wasting energy on things which make you bitter,or projects that don’t yield results. Go out there and go do what makes you happy, inspires you, ignites your passion and lust for life. Be alive!
