Holiday Report
So finally my short holiday draws to an end. After a chaotic and challenging year, I decided some serious time-out was needed. For this to happen I had to restrain myself from switching on my laptop, checking email and grabbing my cellphone every two minutes. I am proud to say that I still haven’t read email. In addition my cell has been on silent all week and I have only responded to urgent matters. A big accomplishment! I did suffer from severe gadget and internet withdrawel the first two days!
So what did I do with myself all week?
I watched some awesome shows at the casino [Incidentally thanks to Garden Route Casino for great service! I lost my car keys at one event and security was super, they found my keys in that week.] In addition I jogged from Boggoms Bay to Vleesbay and back every morning. I surfed, body boarded, hit the Boggoms Bay gym with my neighbour, and played with my dogs. I even played Wii one evening. Generally I have very little interest and thus skill in gaming.. . but boy of boy was this fun! It also helped that I kicked some ass in shooting things to smithereens.[Wii is on my official wishlist!] I spent some quality time with my family who normally only see me in passing when I am in work mode. All and all this holiday gave me time to relax and time for much needed reflection.
I am sad to see the holiday end – could easily have done another week. Then again, I am oozing with excitement - a new home, a new career… an endless possibility!
