Goodbye 2007

Wow what a year! 2007 was a rollercoaster. A challenging, action-packed year.

For me 2007 was fast paced and consisted of a series of “learning curves.

The year was marked by many difficult choices and their consequences. I found myself in a constant tug of war between work and family commitment - something that unsettled me and became my number one consideration for every decision made. I had to make difficult choices about and for my companies – constantly changing my mind about their destiny. All and all 2007 came with no routine, and the unexpected became the expected.

2007 was also a year marked by career change. This change I have to contribute to the fact that blogging changed my life. From the moment FeistyFemale gained a readership, it also gained unexpected momentum. The 27 dinners added much to this snowball effect. A network of brilliant minds inspired me, excited me and challenged my thoughts. It allowed me to broaden my thinking and mingle with very rare like-minded people. The friendships formed during this year are invaluable. Next thing I knew, it was Thought Leader and before I could blink, my career consisted of bridging the gaps between traditional marketing and the possibilities of new media.

2007 taught me that I could indeed survive anything with the right mindset. It stretched me, moulded me and challenged me. I believe it is in the most challenging times that we grow the most, learn the most and exceed what we consider to be limits.

Knowing that I have changed, grown and become a stronger force to be reckoned with, all I can say as I dance into 2008 is… Bring it on baby!
