Rocking the Daisies

If you haven’t heard about the Rocking the Daisies Music Festival you’ve been hiding under the wrong rock! Now in its third year, this is the coolest festival by far and the fact that it’s eco-friendly to boot, is commendable. (Their pay-off line is PARTY HARD, TREAD LIGHTLY.)

The festival derived its name from the fact that it is hosted in Darling on the West Coast during the flower season. This year it is slated for 3-5 October and the festival line-up includes 26 bands, 22 DJ’s a comedy stage and some really yummy food. From what I hear Butlers Pizza, Rafiki’s, Noodlebosch, VidaE, Portabello and Dish are all going to be there and I’m sure the falafel guy will make his appearance again. And with the promise of a glass of Cloof wine and a hot shower (powered by bio-diesel generators nogal) is what I call a good weekend away.

So here is the real scoop though…Rocking the Daisies is hosting an online blog competition and the prizes kick butt. Not only can you win a set of double tickets with VIP and backstage access, you also stand a chance of winning great prizes from DigiCape. Best of all though, the guys are setting up a DigiCape blog station at the festival that will feature all the latest Apple gear so that you can blog live from there. All you have to do is:

  1. Write a blog post about RTD and tell them what the five things are that you definitely can’t leave home without if you are on your way to spend a weekend at the coolest eco-friendly music festival in SA.
  2. Link to both the Rocking the Daisies competition page and Digicape (the sponsors of the kick-ass prizes) in your post.
  3. Tag as many friends in your post as you like. (The more you tag the better your chances of winning.)
  4. Lastly register on the competition page and tag your name, your post and the person that originally tagged you in their post on the competition blog.

So here are the five things I would take along to the coolest eco-friendly music festival in SA:

  1. My cell and laptop – they work together 3G for regular updating.
  2. Camera – cool pics are a crucial part of my life.
  3. Backpack – it’s practical right…
  4. Dark sunglasses – and I am not saying why!
  5. My FeistyFemale t-shirt in shocking pink! [What would my life be without shameless self-promotion.]

Now I’d like to know what the people below would bring along to the festival [the joys of being first]:

  1. Dave Duarte
  2. Max Kaizen
  3. Jonathan Hitchcock
  4. Jonathan Endersby
  5. Stii
  6. Imel Rautenbach

Rafiq - jeepers you fast bru

Vincent - excellent point, but I think we should categorise it as “booze”.

  5. Hic…! Did somebody say booze?? Sounds like my game.

  6. Radio Review - welcome to FeistyFemale! It’s a fantastic concept conjured up by a team of geniuses! See http://www.beverleymerriman.com for more information.

  7. better late than never, I don’t go anywhere without my (extensive) gadget collection, which includes phone, gps, camera & ipod.
Now if only I had a shiny new iPhone I would have a real reason to party (no more excess baggage).

  8. Imel - ROFL. You sure you didn’t miss any additional cabling, modems, spare batteries ect?

I think you should take this entry and enter the Rocking the Daisies competition properly - you never know what that first prize is…. might just be a shiny iPhone…. you never know.

  9. Sounds like its a disaster people are stuck outside the venue with tickets that can’t get in. A queue that is kms long and nothing to do but listen to kfm (yes kfm). They cant even see the venue!!!
