Rocking the daisies - 10 tips and strategies to win that prize!

Being at the top of the blogging competition chain has its perks! I have had endless delight dealing with people probing me, pestering me, hinting and even shamelessly asking me to tag their names.

What really intrigued me was the cheat strategies in circulation - shame on you wanting to take short cuts on a good cause! For all the cheaters, strategists and SEO hooligans out there, this post is for you!

Notes:

  • Once you have posted an article you cannot tag additional people in the same post. Please apply some ethics here. Embrace the fun and write another post dammit!
  • You can only tag your name once for every relevant post. The trick is to get other people to tag your name when they write their post if you were the one that originally tagged them.

Tips and strategies to ensure your win:

  1. The more you post the better your chances! It aint science folks - write a post, link to Rocking the Daisies and Digicape and tag people in that post. It qualifies as an additional entry and as additional tags. e.g. I have just scored and entry.
  2. Content is king. If you are creative you can generate a post a day up until the festival. This should increase your chances exponentially.
  3. People need to tag you. Nag your friends shamelessly -  you can even make them start a blog just for this purpose.
  4. In actual fact why not create a database of people that owe you favours and exploit it.
  5. Bribe fellow bloggers if you must. [Once again I don't endorse the ethics on this.]
  6. Engage your blogging community. Remember to post it to Muti and Digg.
  7. This is the one time where your Facebook network could be real handy - use it as a database and start tagging people alphabetically [grin].
  8. That Twitter following can finally be used for a greater purpose…
  9. Stalk and scare the people that you tag that haven’t posted yet…. now is the time to be demanding.
  10. Remember folks an integrated strategy is key - blog, bribe, promote and tell people about it.
