My first football game

Two sports matches in one go – an achievement for this offbeat arty chick.

Generally I prefer sipping glasses of wine at random art exhibitions, so it comes as no surprise that this weekend I attended my first ever soccer game.

Rugby is ok, but watching Kaizer Chiefs vs Manchester United was an experience. The crowd of course makes the entire outing worthwhile. The spirit at a soccer event is most certainly contagious.

I was fascinated by the fact that it is such a noisy colourful event. I loved watching the people – it makes my analytical brain race and it is really refreshing watching people from different walks of life come together to support their favourite team. It also makes me proud being South African.

My colleagues and hosts made it an amusing, fun and memorable event. Thanks guys!
