Noddy badge moment - Top 45 Female African Bloggers
Oooooohhhh!!!! Apparently, I’m one of the top Top 45 Female African Bloggers.
God alone knows why! Although I’m constantly questioning the value of every post I write, the truth is, I really don’t know what makes people come back?
Ok, back to the subject at hand…
I do find the list intriguing, I even had a little chuckle at Helen Zilla lower down on the list. A girl has to have some fun/amusement. (Don’t let them fool you, all bloggers thrive on these lists, whether it be for shameless self-promotion, true interest or pure entertainment.)
Yes, I guess there will be bickering on the stats/validity/sources. Yes, questions will be raised. Yes, conversations will prevail. That’s why we love the online world, right? Then again the girls online are much friendlier and less argumentative than the boys!
In the bigger scheme of things (real world issues and real world work) lists like these hold little importance - especially to the average citizen. However, it is a great resource list and a valuable post e.g. for corporates searching for influential women bloggers. I guess what would ease my questioning mind is seeing the bigger picture i.e
- How many women blog in South Africa?
- How many women blog in Africa for that matter?
- Does it include all the blogging platforms, e.g. 24.com blogs? (Doubt it)
- Does it only include registered blogs on Afrigator?
I could carry on with a thousand more questions…..
Overall, I think it’s an interesting list. Sure as hell pointed me towards other interesting women’s blogs - that I would not have found otherwise.
Thanks guys!

it would, indeed, be very interesting to examine the male/female ratio in the SA blogosphere - but as for how it would be done, i have noooo idea….

Jackie - Thanks for the comment, love your site as well. It proves most useful during the spells where I am vegetarian
And I am not kidding.

ExMi - Ooh, the other rebel chick!!! I must admit I like reading your blog (the naughtiness appeals) Really ashamed to say that I just checked, and found that I wasn’t following you on Twitter. The situation has been rectified! Looking forward to some online chats and giggles.
