Christmas is a magical, fun-filled and festive time, in the heat of the South African summer. Christmas to many South African means beaches, suntan lotion, summer romances and plenty of ATKV shows in places like Hartenbos. It is a time where emphasis is placed on giving and sharing.

I have been blessed with the most amazing family and a privileged background. Christmas is a family-affair where we share love, laughter and food! Unfortunately not every child grows up with parents let alone privileges. We live in a country where children and youth face numerous challenges in terms of daily survival.

Christopher and I would like to spread some awareness and magic this season. Each of us will be donating R2.00 for the first 500 people who join the movement (of updating a photo of themselves wearing a Christmas hat). Money goes to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
